A Recap of Our Inspiring Trip

Our team had another wonderful trip to visit Berliner in June! Our team included our Architect Resource Manager – Anthony Kenaston and Territory Managers Andrew Ross and Marc Gutfeld. Joining our team in Germany was a crew of Landscape Architects – JT Barr (Schmidt Design Group San Diego, Martin Armstrong (Land ARCH619 San Diego), Alan Gonzales (LPA Irvine Landscape Architect), Nick Adamson (McGough/Adamson Architects, Mesa, AZ), Alizabeth Potucek (Wheat Design Group, Tucson, AZ), Kevin Belair (Edgeworks San Diego), and Austin Taphorn (Edgeworks San Diego/Houston).

We are so grateful to Berliner for hosting us and our friends and colleagues. Each year, we spend quality time connecting with those in our industry who are striving towards bringing innovative play spaces back to our communities at home.

As never-ending learners, we are always in pursuit of educating ourselves. Berliner provided a behind-the-scenes look at how they create and design innovative spaces. Hearing them share their vision and process is always inspiring!

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” This quote by George Bernard Shaw is a belief we hold strongly at DBA. Hands-on play is always a must when we share what’s special about what we do! While there is something so pure and joyful about watching children play, watching adults climb and adventure on a playground reminds us we all deserve play. This is why playground tours with Berliner are always a highlight of our trip!

As another trip has come to an end, we continue to reflect on the enjoyable, educational, and inspiring time we had connecting with Landscape Architects who make such positive impacts in our communities.
